“I do not work in sales.”

Everyone works in sales. If you have an opinion about how the world should be, where you should be in it, or how other people around you should be interacting with you, then you need to interact with other people and persuade them to see things your way, at least some of the time. The real thing that people say when the they say I do not work in sales is either that they do not want to lie, (correct!) or that they are not much good at getting other people to work with them on anything, and are afraid to attempt to change anything. Persuading other people to your point of view is not a dysfunctional talent, on the contrary, to not be able to do it at least some of the time implies that your interaction with the people around you could mature and grow somewhat.
